Transforming soft plastic recycling in the coffee industry: the Reground Soft Plastics Coffee Packaging Best Practice Guide

We realise that choosing sustainable packaging can be confusing and accurate and up to date information on the topic can be hard to find. This is why when Reground approached us (alongside other industry stakeholders) about contributing to a best practice guide for soft plastic coffee packaging to create more transparency in the industry, we were all in.

When Reground approached us (alongside other industry stakeholders) about contributing to a best practice guide for soft plastic coffee packaging to create more transparency in the industry, we were all in. Mainly because we realise that choosing sustainable packaging can be confusing and accurate and up to date information on the topic can be hard to find.

In Reground’s work collecting and recycling soft plastic, the Reground team identified that producers, as well as consumers of this material, were struggling to make sustainable choices in the absence of clear, up to date and accessible information on recyclability. As a result, they pulled together a group of diverse industry stakeholders to help assemble a best practice guide to make decision making more straightforward with the support of current and accurate information.

Recently launched, this guide deserves a read if you’re considering a change to your packaging. Also a little (cheeky) side note: EcoBarista got a pretty good rap for our soft plastic bag options. Needless to say, we were stoked. Click the button below to head to the guide.
