Meet the newest addition to our cup range: the home compostable coffee cup. Our mission at EcoBarista is to make really great coffee packaging that’s planet-friendly, people-friendly and coffee-friendly. What that means is we’re always looking at how we can improve and offer better, more sustainable products. Our *new* home compostable coffee cup is something we’ve been brewing for a while and it’s a great example of our approach to reimagine packaging for our cafe and roaster partners. Most of us want to enjoy a takeaway coffee now and then, and the reality is that we don’t always have our reusable cup on hand. This cup is our most circular second-best option to a reusable cup. Made with an aqueous lining as opposed to traditional PLA linings, this cup can be composted at home after use. Some councils will accept these cups into green bins, but always check your local council’s regulations because every council is different!
WHAT’S TO LOVE ABOUT IT:
Home compostable: Made from plant-based materials, this coffee cup is fully compostable in home composting systems, reducing landfill waste. If it does end up in landfill, it will break down more quickly than non-compostable options.
Aqueous coating: Our cups feature an aqueous coating that provides a water-resistant barrier without the use of harmful chemicals, ensuring your beverage stays fresh and delicious while minimising the environmental impact.
Sturdy structure: Made with a durable and sturdy structure, these cups maintain their shape and integrity even when filled with hot beverages, making them ideal for on-the-go use without the worry of leaks or spills.
Available in a range of sizes and shapes: Available in EcoBarista’s standard sizes across 80mm and 90mm, these cups are suitable for any kind of hot beverage, coffee and beyond.
Certified sustainable: Our cups are made from materials that are certified to Australian standards.
