In the specialty coffee realm, the World Aeropress Championships stand as a testament to creativity, community and downright fun. In 2023, this event brought together coffee aficionados from across the globe to showcase their brewing skills and celebrate the versatility of the beloved AeroPress in Melbourne, Australia — hosted by Fieldwork Coffee

The humble AeroPress, a compact and portable coffee maker invented by Alan Adler, has gained a cult following since its small beginnings. Its simplicity, combined with the ability to produce really exceptional coffee, has made it a favourite among both home brewers and professionals. The World Championships serve as a platform for enthusiasts to push the boundaries of what’s possible when it comes to creating the perfect brew, using only an Aeropress device.

EcoBarista joined a lineup of stellar sponsors for the 2023 championships, producing and printing the championship coffee bag made with a home compostable high barrier structure. Now, we don’t have favourites, but if we did, this bag would likely be one of them. Fill it with beans from the championship coffee partner, Fieldwork Coffee, and you’ve got a serious match made in heaven.

With competitors representing countries from around the globe, each participant brought their unique flair and technique to the table. From traditional espresso-style brews to experimental concoctions, there was no one-size-fits-all approach when it came to the championship brews. The judges, including industry experts and coffee connoisseurs, evaluated each brew based on taste, technique, and presentation.

The AeroPress World Championships aren’t just about winning—they’re about pushing boundaries, fostering community, and celebrating the joy of a perfectly brewed cup.

But winners are still winners, and it’s only fitting to credit those who came out on top in the 2023 Aeropress World Championships.
